Chief Withrow is a 32-year veteran of the fire service, spending most of his career with CAL FIRE, promoting through the ranks to Assistant Chief, responsible for CAL FIRE Operations in Amador County and Southern Sacramento County. He is a 2006 Medal of Valor recipient from the California State Firefighters Association and a qualified Chief Fire Officer with the State Fire Marshal’s Office. Chief Withrow has an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science, holds several Incident Command qualifications, and served as the CAL FIRE Incident Commander on the Sacramento Regional Incident Management Team. He is an instructor with Columbia College and enjoys teaching fire service classes in the local area. Chief Withrow lives in Jackson with his wife Heather of 31 years and their teenage daughter Holly. He has served as a local 4-H project leader and assisted with several other community projects. His community service background and fire service experience underscore his commitment to public service, especially here in Amador County.
