Dan Epperson

Supervisor Epperson is a proud Ione resident and Pastor of King’s View Church since 2002.  He is happily married to his wife, Colleen, since June 1994.  He has 4 children, 3 boys and a girl and a bonus son who has been with them since 2023.

Supervisor Epperson was born in Peoria, Illinois.  He earned his associates degree from Illinois Central College in 1990 and bachelor’s degree from North Central University in 1993.  Upon graduation, he moved to Redding, CA.  He served as a youth pastor in both Redding 1993-1994 and in Rio Dell in Humboldt County from 1994-2001.

He started hunting as a kid and is passionate about the outdoors.  As a conservationist, he builds and installs nesting boxes throughout the County.  He is an active year-round sportsman, hunting and fishing all over.  As a California certified Hunter Education instructor, he has been instructing youth and adults for the state since 2006 and continues to have classes several times a year.

Ione elected Dan to three terms as councilman 2010-2022 and was selected as the mayor of Ione for an unprecedented five terms by council, 4 consecutively.  In that capacity Supervisor Epperson served on the Amador County Transportation Commission, Regional Transportation Mitigation Fund, Amador County Recreation Agency, the Warden’s Select Committee at Mule Creek State Prison, the finance and budget committees in Ione and several others.  He is a POST certified chaplain and served as a Chaplain for the City of Ione, the Sierra Nevada Chaplaincy and with the Amador County Sheriff’s Office.  He served as a Nexus Youth and Family Services board member and coordinates the Sutter Amador Hospital Chaplains list.

Supervisor Epperson will use his valuable experience to keep Amador County headed in the right direction, listening to the people and bringing the accountability the citizens deserve.  He will continue to be a positive force to help us maintain the quality of life we all came here for.
